The counter space corresponding to the number on the wheel won a free meal. This tradition continues today. The passing train would cause the old building to rattle and shake to the delight of customers. 

    As a result of the 1994 Northridge earthquake and damage to California freeways, Metrolink expanded its rail service from Los Angeles to the Palmdale/Lancaster area. It was determined that the old building was too close to the railroad tracks and Metrolink required the property on which Crazy Otto’s was located.

    In June 1994, Crazy Otto’s moved to it’s present location on 20th Street West, just south of avenue K. Again, in an effort to accommodate the demand for Otto’s food, a second location was added about a year later at 1228 West Avenue I in Lancaster. This is the only Crazy Otto’s location to serve dinner seven nights a week.
    On June 12, 1993, Crazy Otto’s Diner broke the World Record for the largest omelet by creating an omelet an astonishing 1,364 square feet. This was carried by all news services including CNN, UPI, and AP and was reported in newspapers around the world. Crazy Otto’s received commendations by Governor Wilson of the State of California and Palmdale City Mayor, Jim Ledford.                         Next..
